With Silent Socks acoustic furniture pads, chairs and tables glide smoothly across the floor, reducing scraping noise, scratched floors, stubborn marks and heavy lifting. Silent Socks also reduce impact noise from chairs knocking against table legs, etc. The inner rubber ball support ensures that Silent Socks stay securely in place. Silent Socks HD (Heavy Duty) are made from a mixture of synthetic materials and a small element of wool. This model is suitable for most types of floors.
Important User Information
Silent Socks are not recommended for use on floors treated with oil, as this type of surface treatment considerably shortens the life cycle of the furniture pads. Most steel tube legs come with original internal or external plastic caps. They should NOT be removed before fitting Silent Socks.

Silent Socks furniture pads fit easily onto the legs of chairs and tables – no tools required.
Most steel tube legs come with original internal or external plastic caps. These should not be removed before fitting the Silent Socks. Thanks to their internal support, Silent Socks remain securely fastened.

Care
When Silent Socks gather dust – start by vacuuming them. If they are still dirty, they can easily be washed. Remove the Silent Socks as a whole, including the inner rubber ball, and wash them in a washing machine using the Wool programme at 30-40 °C. Then tumble dry. Leave them in an airy and warm environment for a few hours before refitting.

What is the life cycle of Silent Socks?
The life cycle of Silent Socks depends on several different factors, including the type of floor and how often the floor is cleaned.
In general, the smoother the floor the longer the life cycle, while a floor with sharp joints and/or structuring will shorten their life cycle.
How do Silent Socks compare to regular furniture pads?
Noise reduction
Silent Socks furniture pads are tested in the Akustikverkstan (Acoustic workshop) sound laboratory. A comparative study between Silent Socks and other commonly available felt and plastic pads shows that Silent Socks have excellent sound absorbing capacity. Depending on the type of chair and floor tested, noise levels are reduced by up to 18 dB(A) compared to the original pads. A decrease of just 8-10 dB(A) is experienced as a 50% drop in noise level.
Wear
SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden (RISE) in Borås also tested Silent Socks furniture pads for wear. A comparative study between Silent Socks and other common felt and plastic pads show Silent Socks to have excellent durability. A chair with a 50 kg load was dragged back and forth a distance of 40 cm for 40,000 cycles – the Silent Socks remained intact. The standard felt pads that were tested fell off the chair legs after only 15 cycles.
We have tested Silent Socks HD in our own testing rig to meet the highest demands of tough ceramic tiles and stone floors with seams and/or joints.

Why do some of the Silent Socks sizes overlap?
Due to the flexible inner support part of Silent Socks the sizes slightly overlap. If in doubt, for the best fit choose the smallest size that fits your furniture legs.
